Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr has had his fair share of haters this year, and ESPN’s First Take is obviously one of them.

The Oakland Raiders have a legitimate franchise quarterback in Derek Carr, so it is almost laughable when people take shots at him. Only 27-years old, Carr is on the brink of rewriting the Raiders record book, and should be even better in year two under Jon Gruden.

While the numbers were there in 2018, the wins were once again elusive, as Carr has led the team to only one winning season in his five years as the starter. That has brought the haters out in droves, including two of the more publicized media men in the world, who happen to host a talk show for the Worldwide Leader.

ESPN’s First Take took shots at Carr during their program on Wednesday, and Raider Nation was quick to jump on Twitter to his defense. Even Carr chipped in, tweeting this out about hosts Max Kellerman and Stephen A. Smith, who are the stars of the show.

It is pretty hilarious to see Carr come to his own defense, as he usually lets the haters talk, and his play do the talking for him. Carr has been more active on social media as of late, interacting with Raider Nation more frequently, and the fans have been eating it up on Twitter.

Of course, we can take what Smith says with a grain of salt, as he more famously was looking forward to the Hunter Henry vs. Derrick Johnson matchup when the Kansas City Chiefs took on the Los Angeles Chargers early in the season. This duo is quick to fire off hits at Carr any chance they get, and this time, Raider Nation, and Carr weren’t having it.
