Derek Carr has his fair share of haters, as we saw this week with First Take, but All-Pro Von Miller has nothing but good things to say about the quarterback.

Heading into his sixth season as the starting quarterback for the Oakland Raiders, Derek Carr has inched his way to the top of the team’s record book in nearly every passing statistic. This past season, he set a career-high in both yards and completion percentage, but that has not stop the haters from coming after him.

Throughout the season, media experts all over the country were spelling out the demise of Carr in Oakland. Incredibly, Carr just continued to lead the Raiders through another rough year, not throwing an interception from Week 6 through 16, all the while doing it with two rookie tackles, and very little weapons in the passing game.

While the media continues to break him down, the people that actually play the game hold him in high regard, including an All-Pro edge rusher that faces him twice a season. Denver Broncos Pro Bowler Von Miller was asked about Carr at the Pro Bowl, and he had nothing but glowing words to say about the 27-year old signal-caller.

The Raiders official site tweeted this out on Friday.

In an NFL where there aren’t 32 legitimate starting quarterbacks, having a young signal-caller like Carr should be considered a positive for the Silver and Black. Instead, he has been criticized at every turn, and while it has not all been great during his time as the starter in Oakland, the good definitely outweigh the bad when it comes to his play.

The thing with Carr is, real football people know how good a quarterback he is, and there are few defensive talents in the NFL like Miller. The veteran edge rusher has had a front row seat to Carr development during their time in the AFC West, and I think he would know better than most “experts” about how good a quarterback Carr actually is.
