Will the Raiders make a play?

With the offseason inching closer not much has yet been reported in regards to whom new GM Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden have their sights set on through free agency. It’s likely that the two will first go into the draft looking to stock up on young talent with a focus on the defensive side of the ball.

From there, the Raiders would be wise to not let their cap space go to waste, and look to find the right veterans that could help develop and work alongside those newly drafted young pieces. The Raiders will surely be in the conversation with a number of veteran free agents, and Barr could be a possibility.

Ultimately, the Raiders front office should look to get as much value as possible as opposed to writing a big check for just one player. There’s too many holes to address on both sides of the ball, and Oakland can’t afford to swing-and-miss in the draft or free agency. Barr might be an enticing option and worth a look, but no more than that for the Silver and Black.
