Mack Wilson. 27. player. 28. . Middle Linebacker. Alabama

For years, the Raiders have struggled to find an answer at the middle linebacker position, though they should be able to find their man in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. While Jason Cabinda did a nice job as an undrafted free agent in the role late in the season, the Raiders need a legitimate starting option in 2019, and that player could end up being Mack Wilson from Alabama.

Wilson is a guy who plays with incredible tenacity, and would be a nice fit in the middle of Guenther’s 4-3 defense. If the Raiders spent two of their three first round picks on the linebacker group, and added an edge rusher in Josh Allen, all of a sudden the first two levels of their defense are vastly improved.

The Raiders have a lot of work to do on both sides of the ball, but Wilson is certainly a guy they can plant in the middle of their defense in a leadership role in year one. Wilson may be the best tackler in this draft class, and after dominating as a key member of the best defense in college football in 2018, he is ready to take his talent to the next level.
