Find a starting middle linebacker

The middle linebacker position has been an issue for the Raiders for years, and that is a spot they will have to figure out if they are ever going to make it back to the playoffs. In 2017, NaVorro Bowman came over during the season, and played very well, but was not able to come to an agreement on returning for 2018.

Towards the end of the 2018 season, the Raiders inserted undrafted free agent Jason Cabinda in the role, and he played as good as he possibly could for a guy who should not be starting in the NFL. This offseason, Oakland has to do something to shore up this void, and they may want to look at free agency, where guys like C.J. Mosley, Kwon Alexander, Jordan Hicks, or Cory Littleton to  name a few could really help.

Of course, the Raiders could also dive into the draft for a middle linebacker, as both Devin White from LSU and Mack Wilson from Alabama are slated to go in the first round. Whatever they decide, they have to get the right guy in place, because the middle linebacker spot is so crucial in Paul Guenther’s 4-3 scheme.
