Last season, the Raiders saw incredible improvement from cornerback Gareon Conley, a guy they selected in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. What Conley proved was that he can be an elite cornerback at the NFL level when he is healthy, and firmly shook off any notion that he is going to be a bust in the pro game.

In 2019, the Raiders have to address their depth at cornerback, and they may decide to bring back Daryl Worley in free agency. They did utilize a fourth round pick on Nick Nelson this past draft, but his season was incomplete, as he was never healthy enough for the Raiders to get a good look at him in year one.

With their second of three first round picks, Oakland could decide to draft a cornerback in the first round again, and Deandre Baker from Georgia is as good as it gets in this draft class. A tandem of Baker and Conley, with Worley as the No. 3 corner would make this group a strength, and the secondary will have to be better in 2019 if they hope to shut down the likes of Patrick Mahomes and Philip Rivers in their division.
