The Oakland Raiders have a serious need on the offensive side of the ball, as they have very little talent returning to the wide receiver position. In fact, outside of Jordy Nelson, and maybe Marcell Ateman, the Raiders do not have anybody that Derek Carr can really count on at this group moving into 2019.
With one of their three first round picks, Oakland should target one of the first round talents at wide receiver, and D.K. Metcalf would be a God-send at No. 27 overall. Metcalf is not only extremely strong, but can make any catch on the field, and if he is healthy coming off a neck injury that ended his 2018 season, the Raiders have to make a play for him.
Of course, Oakland will have to do more than just add Metcalf in the first round, and could target another wide receiver later, but he is by far one of the better talents in this draft class. Derek Carr would love throwing to someone with Metcalf’s size, and skill, and the wideout could obviously benefit from learning behind Nelson early in his career.
