5 Oakland Raiders who won’t be with the team in 2019

Rashaan Melvin, Cornerback
One player who I firmly expected to have a big 2018 season was Rashaan Melvin, a solid cornerback the Raiders brought in on a one-year deal this past offseason. However, it took Melvin a while to get his feet wet in Oakland, and before you knew it, he was in a battle with head coach Jon Gruden.
Melvin settled down late in the season, and looked pretty good as a starter alongside former first rounder Gareon Conley. The problem is, he will likely be expected too much money this offseason, and the Raiders may decide they want to bring back Daryl Worley, who is younger than Melvin, and has more upside.
Conley looked like a true CB1 late in the season, and the team did spend a fourth rounder on Nick Nelson in 2018. With so many high draft picks in 2019, Oakland will certainly be targeting this position group, and with so many holes to fill on both sides of the ball, Melvin could prove to be the odd man out at cornerback this season.
