Gareon Conley stepped up in year two for the Oakland Raiders in 2018, but the position group needs more help heading into 2019.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. No I’m not talking about the holidays in December. I’m referring to free agency, which is essentially Christmas for the 32 teams in the league. When it comes to the Oakland Raiders, there are needs all over the place. It’s no secret the team is in rebuild mode with the plethora of needs, draft capital and cap space.

The Raiders will be able to address those needs once free agency kicks off in less than a month.

Given the state of the team, attracting free agents will be a bit difficult. Luckily for them they have one of the largest cap spaces in the league. One position of need the Raiders should target with their surplus of cap space is cornerback. Gareon Conley finally turned the corner last season for the silver and black, but there is still a lot more development in his future.

The same goes for Daryl Worley, who most likely will stick with the team. Outside of those two players there really isn’t any depth.

The positive note is that both Conley and Worley are young, so the Raiders should keep that trend going. Adding multiple old veteran players like last season didn’t play out well and it shouldn’t be a plan going into free agency this year since the team is rebuilding.

With that said, here’s a look at five free agent cornerbacks the Oakland Raiders should target when the league year commences.
