Ronald Darby

One of the biggest names in free agency for cornerbacks is Ronald Darby of the Philadelphia Eagles. Big names in free agency almost always get signed to a substantial amount of money. However, in the case of Ronald Darby, he may not be in line for that narrative.

Darby is coming off a torn ACL injury, so teams may be reluctant to sign Darby to his true value. When it comes to the Oakland Raiders, they should overlook his injury. While there will be questions about his return, signing Darby is banking on his upside.

Darby is the youngest free agent available at 25 years old and has already developed into a talented corner. He’s not among the elite ilk of corners, but he’s still a very good one that should garner interest from the Oakland Raiders.

Acquiring Darby will make it feasible to put Daryl Worley or Gareon Conley in the slot since Darby plays on the outside. Not to mention that Darby plays well in man coverage, which fits the mold of the rest of the cornerbacks.

Conley is a fantastic man-to-man cover guy. Matching Darby up with him will make them talented pair. Once again, signing Darby is banking on his upside since he’s young. It feels like he’s already established, but there is definitely much more to uncover with him. He’s well worth the interest and the time for the Raiders.
