No Hard Knocks, Please

In recent weeks, Detroit Lions head coach Matt Patricia has lobbied for the Oakland Raiders, and fiery head coach Jon Gruden to be featured on HBO’s Hard Knocks. Patricia has stated that Gruden would be perfect for the show, and would gladly tune in to watch if the Lions were passed up in favor of the Silver and Black.

On Thursday, Gruden flipped the switch, stating how great Patricia’s beard would look on the program. Of course, you can only be on the show if you have not been in the playoffs in each of the last two years, do not have a rookie head coach, and have not been featured on the show in a decade.

Oakland and Detroit check all of those boxes.

In all seriousness, I do not want the Raiders to appear on Hard Knocks, but that is  totally out of not only my control, but the team as well. There are five teams that qualify to be featured on the program, but the lure of Gruden may be too much for HBO to pass up, as he is television gold.
