The Oakland Raiders will soon become the Las Vegas Raiders, and Cox Communications will be a founding partner of the new stadium.

Cox Communications announced today they will be a 10-year sponsor of the Raiders in Las Vegas. The new stadium, located next to the world famous Las Vegas strip, will have the Cox Communications name on it and will become a founding partner of the new stadium. Including helping with the stadium costs, they will also provide high-speed internet to fans in the stadium during the game and will be the official television sponsor of the Raiders,  the press release announced.

The Raiders President Marc Badain said in a statement:

"“With a rich history of powering the largest stadiums, hotels and convention centers – many right here in Las Vegas – we’re excited to work with Cox on the next evolution of the connected fan experience,”"

Las Vegas is the country’s home for sports betting and Pat Esser, President of Cox Communications knows that:

"“Las Vegas is the sports and entertainment capital of the world, but it’s also becoming one of the smartest, and most connected cities in the world. The new Las Vegas Stadium will perfectly complement this progression and could become the smartest gridiron yet.”"

Not only will Cox Communications help with the smooth transition from Oakland to Las Vegas, but they will also sponsor  “an annual program highlights entrepreneurship and innovation” as well as a media studio at the new Stadium.

About The New Sponsor

Cox Communications understands the importance of serving the communities in which our employees and customers live and work. For us, philanthropy is more than a buzzword – it’s a mission and an opportunity to use our time, talent and technology in ways that strengthen cities, businesses, and future generations.

Cox Communications provides internet service for 90% of the Las Vegas strip hotels as well as sponsors a multitude of sporting complexes in the area, such as the Arizona Cardinals stadium, the telecommunications partner with the New Orleans Saints stadium.

It will be a bittersweet moment when Jon Gruden and the Raiders leave for Las Vegas for all Oakland fans, but having a good sponsor like Cox Communications supporting the move will hopefully make the transition much easier.
