Montez Sweat – Defensive End, Mississippi State

There were so many impressive defensive line performances over the weekend, it’s hard to just pick one. Guys like Quinnen Williams, Rashan Gary, Brian Burns and Max Crosby all had great outings, but Montez Sweat blew everyone out of the water.

At 6’5 260lbs, Sweat ran a record-breaking 4.41 in the 40-yards dash which is absolutely insane for a defensive lineman. He coupled that with great numbers all around including the 3-cone and 20 yards shuttle which was great for him since many have concerns about his flexibility and bend around the edge.

He is still a raw prospect technique-wise, but if he gets with the right coaching staff much like Danielle Hunter did with Minnesota he will have a great career.
