Isaac Nauta – Tight End, Georgia

Isaac Nauta was one of the players I advised people to look out for when I did the day 2 preview article last Saturday. Well, he put on quite a performance, just not the one I was expecting.

Nauta was a disaster running a 4.9 in the 40-yard dash, and his overall spider graph is one of the worst you’ll see. That lack of athleticism translated onto the field as he looked slow and heavy footed especially on the wheel routes.

The hope is that Nauta just had an awful day and will ease some people’s angst at his pro day. His tape did not display someone who is lacking that badly athletically, so something has got to give. At the moment though I can’t see him being anything more than a mid-late day 3 pick if those numbers hold up.
