Oakland Raiders: Winners and losers from the NFL Combine
Stock Down
Devin Singletary – Running Back, Florida Atlantic
Elijah Holyfield is probably the most natural person to point out from the running back as a disappoint, but Devin Singletary may have lost the most stock from the combine.
Singletary was already at a disadvantage being 5’7, but most thought he would blow teams away with his agility and quickness…..nope. Singletary posted one of the worst 3-cone and 20 yard shuttle times for any running back in the class along with running mere 4.66 in the 40-yard dash. The long speed is acceptable, but something just doesn’t add up when you look at Singletary’s tape compared to his combine numbers.
He consistently made people miss with his lateral quickness in college, yet he tested like a stiff on Friday.
Singletary has been thought of as a 3rd down back which was always stretch considering he only caught 51 balls in 38 career games, but now who knows what team will think of him. He could fall from possible day 2 pick to guaranteed day 3 if he can’t improve those numbers significantly.
