Stock Up

Juan Thornhill – Safety, Virginia

When you rank in the 99th percentile in two of the athletic testing categories, you probably had a good weekend. Juan Thornhill did just that recording a 44” vertical jump with an 11-9 foot broad jump. On top of that, he ran 4.42 40-yard dash as and benched 21 reps. So this guy is an exceptional athlete with nice size for a safety at 6’0 and 205 lbs.

Thornhill didn’t appear to have more than a third-round grade for a lot of draft analysts, but after this performance, they will be forced to go back an re-evaluate his tape which is precisely what you want from the combine.

And off the athletic traits alone he should see his draft stock rise as coaches will be convinced they can help Thornhill reach his ceiling as a player.
