The Raiders got an incredible effort from former first rounder Gareon Conley last season, as he stepped up to become one of the premier cornerbacks in the NFL. This offseason, the Raiders have put some nice pieces around him, including safety/slot corner Lamarcus Joyner, and placing a second-round  tender on Daryl Worley.

If Worley comes back, he should slide into a starting role, and the team did spend a fourth round pick on Nick Nelson last season. However, there is still work to be done at the cornerback spot, and adding a guy with the kind of versatility that Kris Boyd does would be a nice get in the fifth round this April.

Boyd was one of the best cornerbacks in the country when he arrived at the University of Texas, and plays with incredible tenacity. He is one of the more punishing cornerbacks in this draft class, never afraid to come up and make a big hit, and would be a welcome addition to a cornerback group that is not only young, but extremely talented.
