Trades

Oakland trades 2019 third and fifth round pick to Pittsburgh Steelers for wide receiver Antonio Brown

As stated earlier, Oakland began the offseason with a bang, bringing in former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown. Last season, Oakland struggled to get big plays from their wide receiver group, but that should be no problem now that AB is sitting atop the depth chart at the position.

Brown has already begun to be intertwined in the Raiders franchise, as he has been hanging out, and working out with Derek Carr nearly every day. He is super excited to be a member of the Raiders, and Carr has to be happy that he has such an incredible weapon to turn to in the passing game next season.

Oakland will still make some  trades as we get closer to the draft, as teams will be clamoring for the No. 4 overall pick. There is still a lot of work to do with this roster, but getting Brown was certainly an incredible way to kick things off.

Oakland trades OG Kelechi Osemele to the New York Jets for a 2019 fifth round pick

This move was made to create cap space, as the team shed over $10 million by sending Kelechi Osemele to the New York Jets. During his time in the Silver and Black, Osemele went to two Pro Bowls, but did have his worst season with the team in 2018, mostly due to injuries.

By trading away KO, the Raiders moved their starting left guard, and a guy who was absolutely dominant for the team in his three seasons. They will likely move Gabe Jackson over to the left now that Osemele is gone, which means they need to find a starter along their offensive line at the guard position this offseason.
