Jeffery Simmons, DT, Mississippi State

The best player in this draft that people don’t know of is Jeffery Simmons. He is easily the second best defensive tackle prospect after Quinnen Williams, unfortunately for him, some off-field issues and a torn ACL have hurt his draft stock.

Now, there is a good chance Simmons won’t fall past the 15th pick. But with an ACL injury and off-field issues, anything is possible.

I wouldn’t want the Raiders to draft a defensive tackle in the first, no matter who it is, but in the second, if Jefferey Simmons is available, the Raiders would be crazy not to select him.

Too much speculation surrounding Derek Carr. dark. Next

Standing at 6-foot-4, and weighing 301 pounds, Simmons is a nasty defensive lineman that will dominate most offensive linemen. My NFL comparison for him is Ndamukong Suh, but of course it’ll depend on how well he recovers from injury.
