Elite Athleticism

Athletically, no one matches up to Fant in this draft class, not even his teammate T.J. Hockenson who is another excellent prospect. At 6’4 250 lbs, Fant tested in the 90th percentile or above in all but one drill at the combine which was the 20-yard shuttle where he tested in the 79th percentile. We are talking about a rare athlete at the tight end position that does not come around that often. Plus this athleticism easily translates on tape.

Fant, just simple runs away from this Minnesota defensive back and creates yards of separation for an easy touchdown.

Another example of him running by a defensive back on his way to the endzone, this time against Ohio State.

With his elite speed and explosion, Fant is going to create mismatch issues the second he steps on the field.
