Maxx Crosby – Defensive End, Eastern Michigan

When you get into day 3, you usually have one of two things, productive players who don’t pass the athletic threshold or good athletes that lack technique. Maxx Crosby falls into the latter category which is why he’ll likely find himself taken around the 4th round according to many draft analyst at the moment.

Crosby’s numbers at the combine suggest whatever team gets him is getting a ball of clay that is an elite level athlete. He tested in the 90th percentile or above in every drill, and you can see the speed off the edge when you watch him, and he also has solid hands.

It also obvious just looking at him that he doesn’t have a ton of strength which affects his ability convert is speed to power and throws off his balance. It is very similar to issues Arden Key faced his rookie season.

However, the athletic profile with Crosby his better than Key. With a year or two of added strength and technique improvement, he could turn into a high-level rotational pass rusher or perhaps a starter.
