The Oakland Raiders were given one of the harder schedules for the upcoming 2019 season, and they will be racking up the frequent flier miles once again.

When the 2019 NFL schedule was released on Wednesday, it was clear that the Oakland Raiders got the short end of the stick. Their schedule was absolutely laughable, and they will have to make miracles happen over the first eight weeks in order to keep themselves in the playoff hunt.

Not only is the slate a tough one, but they also will be traveling more than any other team in the NFL, which will make it even tougher. This is a Raiders team that has done a nice job improving the roster this offseason, but this schedule is going to be a challenge for sure.

The numbers were racked up by TheScore.com, which has the Raiders traveling an absurd amount of miles. In total, Oakland will travel 35,308, with the Los Angeles Rams coming in at No. 2 overall with 33,072.

In contrast, the New York Jets will travel the least amount of miles, traveling only 6,794. They are one of four teams traveling less than 10,000 miles this season (Washington, Buffalo, and the New York Giants).

This is nothing new for the Raiders, who held this title last season as well. They have consistently been a part of the International Series, and have found themselves traveling to the East Coast more times than not lately. In 2019 alone, they will have seven games that start at 10:00am ET.

After starting the 2019 season with back-to-back home games, including a Monday Night Football matchup in the opener against the Denver Broncos, the Raiders will not return home until Week 9. One of their “home” games is in London, and they have to go East to take on the Jets, while also traveling to Indianapolis, Detroit, Minnesota, Green Bay, Houston outside of the AFC West.
