player. 841. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. A.J.Brown. Wide Receiver. Ole Miss.

Yes the Raiders just added five wide receivers in free agency, but no that should not mean they are done trying to add talent at the position. At 35 the Raiders could add another AB to the mix and take talented wide out A.J. Brown out of Ole Miss. Pairing him with Antonio Brown and Tyrell Williams is very enticing, especially if it means that Brown can start his career from the slot.

With only two wide receivers taken in the first round, there is still a lot of talented wide receivers on the board, but Brown is at the top for me. His route-running and short-area quickness are very attractive traits, especially for someone who is potentially going to play in the slot at the next level. He doesn’t dominate with his physicality like some other receivers in this class, but Brown finds other ways to beat his opponents.

Although not a burner, Brown has some decent speed, running a 4.49 second 40-yard dash. At 6-foot and 226 pounds, Brown is quite compact. According to Lance Zierlein of NFL.com, Brown’s pro comparison is JuJu Smith-Schuster.

How interesting would it be for the Raiders to trade for AB and then draft the next JuJu? Obviously that is all conjecture, but it sure is exciting. Brown is a great prospect and will undoubtedly be a day-one starter. He should be heavily considered with the 35th pick should he still be on the board.
