Oakland Raiders: 5 possible picks at No. 35

The Raiders hold the third pick of the second round in today’s draft, here are some players to keep an eye on as potential selections for Oakland.

After a first round in which the Raiders landed top-end talent at positions of need, the Silver and Black will likely continue that trend into the second day of the draft. Clelin Ferrell, Josh Jacobs, and Johnathan Abram all have some similar traits. They all have a high-motor and they are all high-character guys, two things that Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock were looking for to help rebuild the franchise.

Assuming the Raiders do not trade out of the 35th slot and acquire more picks (which I want them to do) there is still a plethora of top-tier talent that they will be able to get their hands on. Because of multiple ‘reaches’ in the first round, a lot of solid players fell.

Regardless of what happens at 33 and 34, the Raiders will get a talented player who will be able to contribute right away. Let’s first take a look at Alabama tight end, Irv Smith Jr.
