The Oakland Raiders will hold four picks heading into Day 3 of the 2019 NFL Draft, and they still have a lot of work to do. Here is their slate of picks.
The Oakland Raiders have put their stamp on the 2019 NFL Draft, making a splash early by selecting Clemson edge rusher Clelin Ferrell with the No. 4 overall pick. While many did not have Ferrell going that high, he is a perfect fit for Paul Guenther’s 4-3 scheme, and fills a huge void on this roster.
Later in round one, Oakland added two quality players, getting the No. 1 running back, and safety in this year’s draft class. Josh Jacobs is the kind of three-down feature back that Jon Gruden covets, and Johnathan Abram plays with the kind of swagger that will remind Raiders fans of those old school safeties.
On Friday night, Oakland had one pick, but they made the most of it, bringing in a very talented cornerback in Trayvon Mullen from Clemson. Not only is Mullen a good friend of Antonio Brown, but he considers Abram like his best friend, and was a teammate of Ferrell at Clemson.
Here are the picks the Raiders have remaining in the 2019 NFL Draft.
- Round 4, Pick No. 106
- Round 4, Pick No. 109
- Round 5, Pick No. 158
- Round 7, Pick No. 218
It has been a very productive draft for the Raiders so far, as they have filled some big holes on the roster already during the 2019 NFL Draft. It appears the tandem of Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden is a prosperous one for this franchise, as they continue to try and rebuild the organization the right way.
Oakland will have the fourth pick overall on Day 3, so expect the party to get started early, as they hold No. 106 overall. It won’t take long for the Raiders to head back to the podium, as they pick again three slots later, before closing their draft out with one pick in Round 5, and another in Round 7.
