The Raiders have filled some needs thus far, selecting a group of quality players through the first two days of the draft. Let’s take a look at what they’ve done with pick No.137.

We’ve finally reached the final day of the 2019 draft. The Raiders have added some quality rookies on day one and day two, with Clelin Ferrell, Josh Jacobs, Jonathan Abram and Trayvon Mullen.

Thus far on day three they’ve added Maxx Crosby and Isaiah Johnson to help bolster Paul Guenther’s defense. It appears Mike Mayock has had his fingerprints all over this draft, drafting defense in a heavy manner.

The Raiders originally had pick No.135, but traded the pick with the Atlanta Falcons and moved back two spots. Gruden and Mayock have been busy trading back quite often on day two, and today on day three.

With the No.137th pick the Raiders select Foster Moreau out of Louisiana State University. Moreau is a tight end, who has exceptional pass blocking skills. He has a large frame, listed at 6’4″ 253 pounds who could develop into a red zone target in the near future.

In his last season at LSU he caught 22 passes for 272-yards and two touchdowns. He didn’t highlight the stat sheet, but does provide protection for Derek Carr with his quality blocking skills.

After losing Jared Cook to the Saints in free agency, tight end was definitely a position of need. Cook was Derek Carr’s most reliable target, so bringing in new playmakers on offense was critical.

As the fourth-round wraps up, the Raiders will be active in the fifth and seventh-round, making three more selections.
