With their second pick on Day 3 of the 2019 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders selected Isaiah Johnson, a cornerback out of Houston.

Over the first two days of the 2019 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders spent their first four picks bolstering areas on their roster that needed help. First, the added an edge rusher at No. 4 overall, selecting two-time national champion Clelin Ferrell to be a leader along a defensive line that netted 13 sacks last season.

Later in round one, the Raiders brought in a star running back in Josh Jacobs at No. 24, the pick they got from the Chicago Bears for Khalil Mack. At No. 27, with the pick they got from the Dallas Cowboys, they added the best safety in the draft class in Johnathan Abram out of Mississippi State.

Friday night, Oakland added more talent to their defensive backfield, drafting Ferrell’s teammate at Clemson, Trayvon Mullen. Mullen is a guy who could slide in as a starter alongside Gareon Conley, giving the Raiders even more talent in a secondary that has been an issue in recent years.

On Day 3, Oakland got the party started early, selecting with the No. 4 overall pick in the fourth round. That pick was used on Maxx Crosby, a solid edge rusher from Eastern Michigan, their second edge rusher added in the draft.

With the No. 129 overall pick, the Oakland Raiders selected Isaiah Johnson, a cornerback out of the University of Houston. Johnson is a speedy corner, running a 4.4, but the position group was not one of need at this point.

Oakland still holds three more picks over the next couple of rounds, as they try to make this 2019 draft class as fruitful as possible. Mike Mayock has done a wonderful job in his first draft as the team’s general manager, and this team should be a much better product than the one the organization put on the field last season.
