The Oakland Raiders brought home a nice haul of talent during the 2019 NFL Draft, and the selections were not lost on some national media.

The Oakland Raiders went into the 2019 NFL Draft with a bunch of holes on their roster, and first-year general manager Mike Mayock did a nice job filling them. In fact, this was one of the more impressive draft classes we have seen for the Raiders in a long time, and hopefully it translates on the field.

In the first round, the Raiders held three picks, and they decided to stay put at No. 4, 24, and 27. That haul brought in three potential starters on both sides of the ball, including an edge rusher in Clelin Ferrell, who is going to be one heck of a player at the NFL level.

Later in round one, Oakland grabbed the best players at their position group in this draft class, bringing in Alabama running back Josh Jacobs, and Mississippi State safety Johnathan Abram. Both of those players are going to make an impact in year one, and Jacobs could be that three-down feature back Gruden has been coveting.

The rest of the draft brought players of great value, including Clemson’s Trayvon Mullen in the second round, as well as edge rusher Maxx Crosby in the fourth. Guys like cornerback Isaiah Johnson, tight end Foster Moreau, and wide receiver Hunter Renfrow are all players who will be cornerstones of this team moving forward.

For their efforts, NFL.com gave the Raiders a solid draft grade, as they finished with a “B+” according to Chad Reuter. In fact, three of the teams in the AFC West finished with the same grade according to Reuter, who is also the guy who had the team trading up to No. 2 overall to select Missouri’s Drew Lock.

The piece had the Denver Broncos earning the best grade in the AFC West, as they were the only team in the division to receive an “A” grade for their haul. They did a nice job adding talent, especially in the second round, where they got Dalton Risner and Drew Lock, two cornerstone players for their offense moving forward.
