The Oakland Raiders had one of their better drafts in recent memory this past April, and one player got some love from the national media Monday.

The Oakland Raiders put together a solid 2019 NFL Draft class, adding players on both sides of the ball that should help immediately. Holding three first round picks, it would have been easy for the Raiders to really mess this one up, but they filled needs with all three picks, as well as adding two players who were considered the best in their position group.

On Monday, NFL.com’s Chad Reuter released his preseason 2019 NFL All-Rookie Team, and while a few players were noticeably absent, the Raiders new feature back was listed on the team.

With the No. 24 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the selection the team got for trading Khalil Mack to the Chicago Bears, the Raiders took Alabama running back Josh Jacobs. Widely regarded as the best player in the draft at his position, Jacobs is a guy who plenty of tread on the tires, and has the ability to be a three-down back for Jon Gruden.

When it comes to Gruden’s offense, he loves guys who have the ability to play three downs, and he should be able to do wonders with Jacobs. In the piece, Reuter speaks directly about Jacobs’ ability to make plays in the passing game, which should lead to him being utilized more times than not.

Left off of the All-Rookie Team was No. 4 overall selection Clelin Ferrell, as he was bypassed by guys like Nick Bosa and Jachai Polite. While Bosa is likely to have a huge year, Polite is a questionable choice, as he was not picked until the third round, and has had his issues off the field in the past.

In addition, you would think that safety Johnathan Abram would be included on the first-team, as he has all the ability you look for in a devastating safety at the NFL level. He plays the game with great knowledge, is a punishing tackler, and could have the kind of impact Derwin James had for the Los Angeles Chargers last season.

Now, it is Reuter who suggested the Raiders move up to No. 2 to select Missouri quarterback Drew Lock, who ended up going No. 42 to the Denver Broncos, so take this list with a grain of salt. The truth is, this Raiders draft class has been getting a lot of love nationally, and after adding quality talent as UDFAs after the draft, there is a great influx of young talent on this roster moving forward.
