Eddie Vanderdoes and David Sharpe
In the third and fourth round, the Raiders added two players who will have to fight for a roster spot as they enter year No. 3 in the NFL. As a rookie, defensive tackle and third rounder Eddie Vanderdoes played a ton, but tore up his knee in the season finale against the Los Angeles Chargers, in what was Del Rio’s final game as a head coach.
Last season, he had to sit out the entire season, and with the Raiders bringing in so much young talent up front, he will have to earn his way back into the rotation in 2019. He showed incredible potential as a rookie, so that is something to keep an eye on.
The Raiders fourth round pick was offensive lineman David Sharpe, who was waived by the Raiders in 2018, and picked up by the Houston Texans. Eventually, Sharpe made his way back to the Raiders, and will enter the summer as a guy looking to stay on as a depth player at offensive tackle.
