The Kansas City Chiefs have been the kings of the AFC West for the past three seasons, and the Oakland Raiders will face a team with a new look in 2019.

The Oakland Raiders have not won the AFC West since the 2002 season, which was the last time they made it to the Super Bowl. Since then, the Kansas City Chiefs have gone on to win five division titles, including three straight, a run that they currently head into the 2019 season on.

This offseason, the Chiefs have said goodbye to some of their veteran leaders, but have also brought in some solid talent on both sides of the ball. They will enter the 2019 campaign as a favorite to come out of the AFC West, especially after what we saw from first-year starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes in 2018.

When the Raiders play the Chiefs

These two teams will do battle twice, just like they do every year, with the first meeting coming early on in Week 2. That game will be played inside the Oakland Coliseum, the second of back-to-back home games for the Raiders to open the season. Oakland will head to Kansas City in Week 13 to wrap up the two-game set.

For the Chiefs,  they have to like their chances of winning a fourth straight AFC West title, but the division got better as a whole, and will be out to take the crown from them.
