Derek Carr throws 35 touchdowns.

The entire offseason was centered around what the Raiders can do to improve the situation around Derek Carr. He had little to work with in 2018, and it resulted in a very lackluster offense with Carr often running for his life.

Now with revamped offensive weapons and improvements on the offensive line, Carr is in position to surpass even his 2016 campaign where he received MVP votes.

We praise the 2016 season, but in reality, Carr never really had the numbers to seriously compete with some of the elite quarterbacks when it comes to MVP or All-Pro voting. However, this season is Carr best chance yet to really put up some eye-popping numbers.

The second year in Gruden’s offense should allow Carr to be more comfortable and efficient, particularly when it comes to the red zone (ranked 22nd). If the Raiders can turn their field goals into touchdowns and be more explosive with the additions of Antonio Brown and Tyrell Williams, then Carr has the opportunity to have a career high in touchdowns.
