Jon Gruden wins Coach of the year.

Coach of the year has essentially become the most improved team award, so criteria are simple. A lot of football media have questioned many of the moves Gruden has made over the past two seasons and expect the Raiders to fall on their faces.

So if Oakland can silence the critics and reach 10 wins, voters will have no choice but to admit Gruden’s plan and coaching was successful.

The schedule will also help the Gruden’s case as they will be facing a ton of talented teams that will no doubt valid Oakland’s turnaround. Gruden has also never won the award so it would be an excellent accomplishment in his second stint as Raiders head coach.
