Oakland Raiders 2019 draft pick season predictions: Clelin Ferrell
By Nick Ellis
The Oakland Raiders added an edge rusher with their first of three first round picks in April, and we take a shot at predicting his rookie season.
With the fourth pick of the 2019 NFL draft, the Oakland Raiders surprised everyone by selecting Clemson defensive end Clelin Ferrell. The Raiders had the worst pass rush in the NFL in 2019, but hopefully the former Ted Hendricks Award winner can turn the defensive line around.
Ferrell has an incredibly impressive list of accolades from his college career, winning the Ted Hendricks Award, the ACC Defensive Player of the Year, First Team All American twice, First Team All ACC twice, Fiesta Bowl Defensive MVP, and two National Championships.
Ferrell is a player that helped bring a championship mentality to the Clemson locker room, and that is something this Raiders team needs badly.
Ferrell will have a lot to overcome in his rookie season, as the Raiders not only play the hardest schedule in the NFL, but they play against some of the best offensive lines in the NFL, as well. The Raiders will play the Chiefs, Chargers, and Broncos twice, three teams who all rank in the top ten in terms of sacks allowed.
