The Oakland Raiders have yet to sign rookie Josh Jacobs, but former legendary running back LaDainian Tomlinson feels he has what it takes to be great.

The Oakland Raiders have yet to sign rookie running back Josh Jacobs, but that has not stopped him from getting a ton of love from around the league. In fact, despite the fact that he is not under contract, many feel he is going to have a dominant rookie season, based on everything he brings to the table.

Raiders head coach Jon Gruden loves to have a feature back, and in his offense, Jacobs can be just that. When you add to the mix that the team improved the offensive line this past offseason, you have to believe that the offense as a whole is going to be much better.

Jacobs figures to be one of the players to benefit the most from all the improvements on the offensive side of the ball.

Speaking on NFL Total Access, former Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson felt that Jacobs had the talent to not only succeed in Year 1, but possibly take home the Offensive Rookie of the Year award. Jacobs is a rare blend of speed and power, and his skill set was not lost on LT.

That is some pretty high praise from a player who was the best in the league at his craft during his prime years for the Chargers. Tomlinson knows what he is talking about when it comes to the running back position, and in Jacobs, he sees a guy that not only can beat you on the edge, but also is strong enough to pick up the tough yards inside.

Of all the Raiders 2019 NFL draft picks, Jacobs is the only one that remains unsigned, and there is unrest that he could be missing when the rookies report to training camp on July 23. This is a deal that is going to get done, and for the Raiders, the long-term gain is going to be well worth waiting for him to put pen to paper.
