Gabe Jackson

Perhaps the coaching staff feels that Gabe Jackson can work as a swing guard, and shift to the left for the time being. Jackson is slotted atop the depth chart at right guard, and though he’d be playing on the opposite side chances are he can more than hold is own.

If the coaching staff see Jackson as the better replacement, it’s likely due to his years of experience, in particular with this franchise. Gabe Jackson has been a solid guard for the Raiders since being drafted by them back in 2014. Jackson has suited up for 73 games and has started for all but one of them.

If its Jackson to be switched to the left side, Oakland likely has the confidence and trust in him to handle the responsibility up front.
