Oakland Raiders training camp is just one week away from starting up, and there’s multiple positions that are up for grabs. Take a look at three position battles that will take place throughout training camp and the preseason.

The Raiders roster looks completely different heading into the 2019 season, versus what it looked like in Jon Gruden’s first year back on the sideline. With that said, instead of going with a multitude of veteran players, he’s constructed his current roster with a mixture of youth and established playmakers.

Training camp serves the team as quality practice time for the rookies to get acclimated to an NFL playbook. It will also be helpful for the new players brought in through free-agency to use training camp as a time to get the feel of things, while working on timing and rhythm with their new teammates.

Another important factor that occurs during training camp, is position battles that take place for starting jobs, and guys who are fighting for their spot on the final 53-man roster.
