5 offensive stats the Oakland Raiders need to improve on in 2019
Red Zone Scoring Attempts
Efficiency in the Redzone is something every team is aiming for, but getting into the red zone needs to be the first step for the Raiders. Oakland only averaged 2.7 red zone attempts per game which were 28th in the league. This also correlates with their drive success rate, which was 25th in the league. So the Raiders could not sustain anything in 2018. Injuries on offense played a large part in their lack of success, but the Raiders have been inconsistent in this area for a few years now.
Even when the offense was clicking in 2016 there times where they too often relied on big plays and were not able to consistently sustain drives.
This is another stat where you’ll find the most successful teams ranking very high in. We think of teams like the Chiefs, Rams, and Saints as explosive play offenses, but in reality, they are just as efficient as they are explosive.
