Offense

First off, the running back battle will be an important one to watch closely. Josh Jacobs and Jalen Richard are guaranteed to get a lot of playing time in the regular season, but both will probably also be on the field for preseason games. It will be fun to see what Josh Jacobs does with the few touches he gets in these games.

The real importance of the running back battles comes between Deandre Washington, Doug Martin, and Chris Warren. Doug Martin more than likely has a spot secured on the roster, and even though Chris Warren was the preseason MVP last season, he still did not make the roster. Washington and Warren will get the majority of the touches this preseason, and whoever impresses more will most likely be making the team.

One rookie that will be entertaining to watch is wide receiver Hunter Renfrow. Renfrow could very well be the top receiver for the Raiders in the preseason, as Antonio Brown and Tyrell Williams won’t see the field. Raiders fans have high expectations for Hunter Renfrow to be a big part of the offense this season, and our first look at the Clemson product will be in the preseason.

We should see a few different set ups with tight ends in the preseason, as the Raiders have an abundance of them on the depth chart. Between Darren Waller, Derek Carrier, Luke Wilson, Paul Butler, and rookie Foster Moreau, there is no truly proven tight end on the roster. With how much of an impact the tight end position had on the Raiders last season, expect to see a lot of action coming out of that position this preseason.
