Trayvon Mullen Becomes a Starting Corner Early
Gareon Conley has the CB1 spot locked for the 2019 season, as he is not just the best corner on the team, but maybe the best defensive player on the team. The CB2 spot is wide open, as Nick Nelson, Daryl Worley, Nevin Lawson, and Trayvon Mullen battle for the spot.
Mullen was selected in the second round of the draft, which not only means he is extremely talented, but also means that the Raiders see the position as one of the biggest needs on the roster. Mullen was a centerpiece of the National Championship Clemson defense, and the Raiders hope he can continue that role as a pro.
None of the other corners on the team stood out last season besides Conley, and if Mullen ends up as good as the Raiders front office expects him to be, he should be the starter opposite of Conley earlier than most expect.
