Charlie Garner (2001-2003)
A second round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles back in 1994, Charlie Garner made his way to the Oakland Raiders at the start of the 21st century. Playing for the Silver and Black for three seasons, Garner was an incredibly versatile back for Jon Gruden, who loved to use him out of the backfield in many different ways.
Garner came to Oakland fresh off a Pro Bowl season in 2000, and would go on to become a receiving, and rushing threat for the Raiders. In 2002, he nearly had 1,000 rushing and 1,000 receiving yards, finishing up with 962 and 941, respectively. That same year, he caught 91 balls as well.
Garner was an electric back for the Raiders, starting 40 of his 46 games with the team. In total, he found the end zone 18 times, and for a short period of time, he was one of the better do-everything backs in the NFL. Nicknamed “Lightning,” Garner was definitely one of the better Raiders of the 21st century.
