Although we’ve only reached the early stages of training camp, let’s take a look at the Oakland Raiders potential 53-man roster.

The Oakland Raiders had what many would call a very successful offseason. Adding former NFL network analyst Mike Mayock into the GM role was a significant change to the top of the organization. Mayock and Jon Gruden faced one of the most anticipated drafts in Raiders history, holding possession of three first-round picks. With their 4-12 2018 season put behind them, the Raiders coaching staff and players appear to be very optimist heading into 2019.

With it being Gruden’s second season back on the sideline after his return to coaching, many would expect a more polished offense in year two. Also to note, Derek Carr’s most successful season came in a year where he had the same play-caller in back-to-back seasons, which he’s only experienced one time throughout his career.

The duo of Gruden and Mayock calling the shots during the draft, finished the three-day event selecting nine players to join the team in Oakland. Those picks consist of one running back, one wide receiver, one tight end, three defensive ends, two cornerbacks, and one safety.

In addition to the rookie class, the Raiders brought aboard some veterans on both sides of the ball. Most notably, Antonio Brown, Tyrell Williams and Trent Brown will attempt to jumpstart the offense, whereas defensively Lamarcus Joyner, Vontaze Burfict, and Brandon Marshall were brought in to improve a unit that must improve.
