The Los Angeles Rams and Oakland Raiders held two joint practices over the past two days in Napa Valley. The teams will be playing their first preseason game this upcoming Saturday against one another.

The Oakland Raiders welcomed in the Los Angeles Rams over the past two days, as the two teams held joint practices at the Raiders Napa Training Camp Facility. It was for sure a action-packed two days, that ended with an injury to one of the Raiders best offensive linemen.

The first day had some very interesting moments, but the overall feel to day 1 of the live scrimmage was mixed. Day 2, however, was much different as the teams were able to watch the film and make the proper adjustments.

“You always want to be crisp. You always want to be clean,” Carr said Wednesday. “But we threw five or six touchdowns and made some nice plays. [Mistakes] like we had today are not alarming, but there will be things we need to work out.” Carr is correct, there were plenty of mistakes made in the first joint practice, including the first play of 7 on 7 drills.

A deep post throw to Tyrell Williams down the sideline resulted in an interception by Aqib Talib.

The Interception was to set a positive tone for practice and it didn’t start off well for the Raiders in positional drills. However, as the day went on, things got a little better for the Raiders offense. On the first play of the Red Zone session, Carr connected with Tyrell Williams in the back of the end zone, threading the needle in between two Rams defenders.

And later during full 11 on 11s, Carr hit Hunter Renfrow on a nicely designed screenplay that went the distance.

These two plays were not the only plays in which the Raiders picked up positive yards. Carr had a really productive day 1 of camp:

As mentioned in the above tweet by Matthew Kawahara, the running game was pretty strong as well. Josh Jacobs was gaining big plays and really impressed the team with his attitude and competitiveness. “There was a fieriness that I haven’t, not to say that I haven’t seen it, but there hasn’t been an opportunity for it. When you go against somebody else that little fiery spark came out and it was a good thing to see that he had that in him,” Carr said.
