Recapping the Offensive line

The Raiders invested a ton of money into that offensive line with two controversially signings, Trent Brown and Richie Incognito. However, it looks like it’s paying off well, as this front is on pace to be one of the most dominating in the NFL.

The Raiders offensive line played well against one of the best defensive lines in the NFL, which features the best defensive linemen in the NFL, Aaron Donald. To start things off during individual drills, Oakland set the tone early day 1. Kolton Miller and Tyrell Williams were dominating in individual drills, and Gabe Jackson also got into the mix Day 1 when he shut down the leagues best player in a 1 on 1 drill:

Day 2 was a little more interesting for the Raiders as Aaron Donald was able to beat Richie Incognito in a pass pro drill. Later on, Clay Matthews was able to beat Kolton Miller on in an inside move. A few sessions later, Miller gave up a second sack, this time on an inside move by Dante Fowler Jr.

This was the first time Miller lost a battle in camp. Kolton Miller has to pick his game up. He’s no longer playing against rookies.

On a positive note, just like on day 1, Gabe Jackson was once again able to hold his own against Aaron Donald, which started a shoving match between the two players.

It was not all sunshine for Jackson, who ended up getting hurt towards the end of Day 2. On Thursday night, it was revealed that the team’s starting right guard would miss eight weeks.

Both Denver Kirkland and Jordan Devey got snaps at guard. But Oakland will rely heavily on Jackson to come back and hold down the right side. Overall, the offensive line has been really impressive. If this team wants to succeed, it will heavily rely on that offensive line.
