The Front 7

The front 7 also had a really nice few days of practice. On Day 1, Tahir Whitehead was flying to the football and was very stout against the run. In fact, the Rams offense had almost no run plays over 3 yards. The defense was flying to the ball and stopping all the running plays.

On day 2, Paul Guenther really started to implement his defense. He started mixing up the front 7. On one play, he moved Clelin Ferrell to the inside and put Maxx Crosby next to him on the outside. On that play, Maxx Crosby tipped the ball at the line of scrimmage.

Koa Farmer, the rookie from Penn State also intercepted a pass from Blake Bortles. He is a long shot at making the active roster, but he could have an opportunity to make the practice squad.

Next. Raiders will be in trouble without Gabe Jackson. dark

Special teams is pretty much a lock, minus the punter. It looks like A.J. Cole has really taken the lead. If he wins out, he will punt and hold the ball during kicks. Daniel Carlson, Andrew DePaola and Dwayne Harris will be the kicker, snapper, and return specialist for Oakland. Although Hunter Renfrow also fielded some punts for the Raiders on Day 2.
