The Oakland Raiders fans and the front office can breathe a sigh of relief today as Antonio Brown is returning to practice today. This comes on the heels of a preseason win against the Rams and their departure to Arizona for the Thursday night tilt against the Cardinals.

The Oakland Raiders new All-Pro wide receiver is joining the team after battling a foot injury and threatening to not play after a helmet dispute over new league rules. Antonio Brown was likely the biggest offseason story this year after he requested a trade and spilled the beans on how the Pittsburgh Steelers and he didn’t see eye-to-eye.

That dispute fell in favor of the Raiders as they traded for Brown from the Steelers.

Brown joining the team will likely boost morale as Derek Carr now has all his weapons back. This also allows the offense to get into the groove and blend together into one cohesive unit. Carr also talked about wanting Brown in practice on last week’s episode of Hard Knocks.

Not only will this help the offense but it will help with the development of young players such as Erik Harris and Johnathon Abram. The 9-year veteran is regarded as the best WR currently in the game and can provide crucial information during the development of young players.

If anyone is still on the fence about Brown here is a list of 47 stat points which will turn your head.

A few of those include:

  1. Racked up 1,147 yards in the first ten games. Second only behind Issac Bruce. He finished that season with 1,781 yards. If that wasn’t impressive, that same season he played with three different quarterbacks.
  2. Brown ranks second in receptions in a single season (129) only behind Colts legend Marvin Harrison (143). Records are meant to be broke, right?
  3. He’s averaged 7.6 receptions per game and only needs another 20 games at that pace to break Jerry Rice’s record of 1,549.

What’s even more impressive is that article was written in 2015.

Since then he’s had 311 receptions, over 4,000 receiving yards, 36 touchdowns, 230 first down receptions, and if that’s not enough, he’s caught a league-leading 70% of his targets.

Yeah. He’s the man.
