Roster finally has depth

Looking at the Raiders 2019 training camp roster, it is clear that this team has much more depth than they did a year ago. Watching them on the field Thursday night, it is also clear that there are some good players who will be cut, and getting this roster down to the required 53 by Week 1 is going to be a tough task for Mayock and Gruden.

On both sides of the ball, there are quality guys who may not make this team, which is a luxury the franchise has not had in many years. Wide receiver has a solid group, as does the secondary, and if you look at all levels of this roster, you can find at least a couple of players who will latch on to someone else’s roster if they are cut by the Raiders over the next few weeks.

It is going to be hard to make cuts this summer, which is not something that is usually the case with a Raiders roster. The bottom line is, Mayock did a great job bringing in talent on both sides of the ball, making this Raiders team one to watch when the regular season gets going in a couple of weeks.
