Raiders Stock Report: 3 up, 3 down after Cardinals preseason game
Stock up: Mike Glennon
Mike Glennon took the field just after Derek Carr and the first-team offense mauled right through the Cardinals defense. Glennon didn’t miss a beat once he took over as he picked up right where Carr left off.
He finished the game throwing 11/14 with 175-yards and two touchdowns. His demeanor under center appeared to look very comfortable in the offense. He remained throwing from inside the pocket, flashing his ability to throw both the deep ball, as well as, connect with his checkdown options.
Glennon entered training camp having to compete with Nathan Peterman for the backup duties behind Carr. The preseason games will be a true testament of who will eventually win that battle for the backup role. Jon Gruden has still declined to state who is winning the job or who will be the Raiders backup this season, but statistically Glennon has played better football over the first two games thus far.
