Stock down: Marcell Ateman
Marcell Ateman is one of Jon Gruden’s former seventh-round selections, who spent the majority of last season on the practice squad. In the later part of last season, he saw some play in games, but still appeared to need some fine tuning.
Thus far, during the two preseason games he hasn’t quite done enough for someone who’s fighting for a roster spot on the final 53-man roster. Last week he finished the game with one catch for 19-yards, and in week two he totaled one catch for 14-yards. Not ideal.
It appears Ateman is on track for another season on the practice squad. He’ll need to quickly rewrite the script over this year’s preseason play if he wants to crack the roster.
