Oakland Raiders: Week 1 53-man roster projection v.3
By Sanjit T.
Safety (4): Johnathan Abram, Lamarcus Joyner, Karl Joseph, Erik Harris
Lamarcus Joyner is listed as a safety on the depth chart, but he will be playing at the slot corner spot this season for Oakland. He did a really excellent job showing his skills vs. the Arizona Cardinals first-string offense. He was targeted three times and gave up zero catches.
Johnathan Abram is an alpha who has really impressed so far. Jon Gruden did a great job by selecting him in the first round. Between him and Karl Joseph, who is working hard to show that he deserved to be picked in the first round, the Raiders should have a good collection of talent at the safety position.
Erik Harris will continue to come in and rotate for the Raiders, often playing in three-safety sets on 3rd and long.
